Some takeaway notes from a participant at the once well-respected ACT-KM Conference included:
“· Nonaka is largely ignored”
Seems typical and emblematic of the weak talent in KM today.
It is fair to ask, how many other of the “World's Most Influential Business Thinkers” does KM ignore, including Nonaka? Please see:
For some reason global business leaders embrace Nonaka, but in KM, Ikujiro is ‘largely ignored.’
Doesn’t this concern people?
It seems Nonaka is ‘largely ignored’ in KM because too many KM people lack a fundamental comprehension of authentic KM.
Does KM ignore the other 19 of the World's Most Influential Business Thinkers?
The other 19 have enormous respect and honor for Nonaka and his work like SECI, Ba, and, above all, his founding and continued leadership in authentic knowledge management.
Has so-called KM ‘certification,’ cantankerous KM keynote speakers and content portal vendors, for example, so poisoned the KM well that “Nonaka is largely ignored” at once respected KM conferences like ACT-KM? Good grief!
Yes, it is scary to ask, but if not Nonaka, who is shaping the scholarly foundations and practices of KM today?
KM and its conferences have lost their way. Time to get back on track…
